SCENT OF THE DAY: Fera, by Ensar Oud
First wear. A tuberose-civet focused sibling to Fiona, down to the sandalwood infused with deep vulva indolics. The civet is bright like in Mystical lotus (and given extra sheen by neroli and juniper). That is one distinguishing mark. The biggest distinguisher, though, is cumin in the opening as well as the spikenard earthiness (deepened by Assam oud) that makes it more Prin like. Still the elegance here rings through.

“We need books that affect us like a disaster, that grieve us deeply, like the death of someone we loved more than ourselves, like being banished into forests far from everyone, like a suicide. A book must be the axe for the frozen sea within us.”—Kafka (against the safe-space cancel culture pushed by anti-art bullies, left and right)
